Overview
Kacheri Chowk (Marka-e-Haq Square) is a landmark urban transformation designed to redefine one of Rawalpindi’s busiest civic intersections. The project creates a strong architectural identity through the integration of contemporary forms, public landscape, and coordinated lighting, transforming a major traffic junction into a recognizable urban landmark.
ARCHILAD was responsible for the aesthetic design, landscape design, lighting design, and architectural visualization. Every design element was developed to enhance the visual character of the square while maintaining functionality, improving the public experience, and establishing a lasting civic identity.
Our Approach
Rather than treating the project as a conventional roadway intervention, the design focused on creating a destination within the city. Monumental architectural forms, carefully layered landscape, and integrated lighting work together to strengthen the identity of the space during both day and night.
The project balances infrastructure with public experience, allowing the square to function efficiently while becoming a recognizable symbol within the urban fabric of Rawalpindi.
